Build Your Library With Barefoot Books
Children’s books are addicting! From the bright colors and beautiful illustrations, to the silly stories and rhyming verses, I can never get enough. As a homeschool family, cuddling up with the girls on the couch during the day with a pile of children’s books or a new chapter book is always a favorite activity around our house.
Barefoot books are gorgeous children’s books full of whimsical stories and tall tales that will encourage your child’s natural love of reading. I have teamed up with homeschooling mama and Independent Barefoot Books Ambassador Courtney Barnes to review some of my favorite Barefoot Books products.
I Took the Moon for a Walk quickly became a bedtime favorite for us. An award winning story of a boy and the moon going on an adventure through town, filled with fun illustrations and rhymes. As a bonus, at the end of the book are reference pages on phases and importance of the moon as well as creatures and plants that come alive at night.
In addition to story books, Barefoot Books also offers sticker books, paper crafts and activity card decks, and Yoga Pretzels was a huge hit at our house. There are fifty brightly colored and detailed cards illustrating poses and activities in nine categories: breathe, game, balance, stand, forward bend, back bend, twist and stretch, partner and time in. The breathing exercises helped calm my highly spirited girls and they had fun stretching along to some of their favorite poses as well as some new ones. The partner poses were also a favorite.
If you’re in the Edmonton area you can catch Courtney at the Baturyn Winter Market November 21 from 10 am – 4pm. You can also visit her website and order online. Get your orders in soon to guarantee delivery before Christmas. If you would like to become a Barefoot Books Ambassador or learn more about their incentive programs, Courtney would be happy to assist you. Happy reading!
