    Monday Menu: November 23

    We finally received our first big snowfall coming today and I’ll probably spend a few days hibernating at home while the roads get cleared off.  Here is my Monday Menu for this snowy week. Honey Turkey and Pineapple – I had a few random things left before picking up groceries and decided to toss them together.  The end result turned out great and everyone ate it up.  I used ground turkey, diced red onion, a can of pineapple tidbits and peas, both drained, honey and seasoning, I added ginger and a bit of nutmeg.     The temperatures around Edmonton have dropped the past few days, so time for some warm comfort food.  Here are five ideas for the Monday Menu that will warm you up on these cold days. Chicken Alfredo and Caesar salad – I love the creaminess of alfredo sauce, and some mushrooms, red pepper and garlic added to the chicken will give it a nice burst of flavor Slow cooker roast and veggies – One of our favorites!  Season the roast and add to slow cooker.  Slice carrots and potatoes and add in around the roast.     Monday Menu: September 28

    Autumn is officially here and the weather is getting cooler so it’s time for some belly warming goodness.  Here are five suppers ideas to warm you up for this week’s Monday Menu. Corn chowder – End of season corn with onion, potato, and ham or bacon will warm you up on a breezy fall day. You can find a simple recipe here. Ground turkey, broccoli and rice – Brown ground turkey, add onions, mushrooms, broccoli and seasoning.  Cook rice and incorporate with the turkey and veggies.  Serve as is or add a sauce.  I added a cheese sauce made from a can of cheddar soup.     Welcome back for Monday Menu – five quick and healthy supper ideas for the busy week ahead. Whether you meal plan weekly or wing it in the grocery store, check out my weekly lists for inspiration and new suppertime ideas.
