    Body Worlds: Animal Inside Out

    Body Worlds is a hugely popular traveling science exhibit. It was in Edmonton just over 10 years ago at Telus World of Science.  It was something I had wanted to see but I was pregnant at the time and I heard there was a section showing a fetus at various stages, so I wasn’t sure if I could handle that.  I went anyway and I’m so glad I did!  It was amazing to see inside a human body and also see what the baby inside me looked like at that stage.  Body Worlds is back at Telus World of Science from November 30 till the end of March 2019, but…

    DIY Slime! A Kid Favorite on a Rainy Day

    My girls are kinesthetic learners and especially love squishing things through their fingers!  Kaiana came across this video a few weeks ago and came running to me, excited to show me a cool science experiment she wanted to try.  I though it looked neat and told her I would get the ingredients to make slime!   There’s been a few rainy days this week and this afternoon was the perfect time to try to make some slime.  I set them each up with a bowl and gathered everything together.  It took less than 10 minutes to make the slime but they played with it for almost an hour, till we had…

    Painted Fireworks & Fireworks in a Cup

    New Year’s Eve is tomorrow night and our plans include sledding and taking in the early fireworks in St. Albert. Once we return home to get the kids to bed at a decent hour, perhaps some Chinese food as we ring in the New Year relaxing at home. I have assisted on many LEGO builds this past week, so to change it up today we brought out paint and made fireworks at home.
